Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd and Perbadanan Putrajaya as joint organizers will be organizing the “Putrajaya International Marathon 2006” on Sunday, 10 September 2006 at Dataran Putrajaya in Precinct 3, Putrajaya. The event is supported by the Federal Territory Amateur Athletic Association (FTAAA).
- The yellow colour of the crescent and star is the royal colour of the Rulers.

The marathon, which covers a distance of 42 kilometer, will take participants running surrounding the undulating and beautiful Putrajaya. This will be a new challenge, as well as a test of courage and stamina for our local and international runners. To lure more participation, there are also the half marathon, 10 kilometers and 7 kilometers runs for various groups of runners from veterans to school pupils. The winners will receive prize money, medals and certificates.

To make the event more interesting, for the first time ever, the organiser introduces the Corporate Team Event. A team shall consist of eight (8) runners to represent their company or organisation by donning their corporate T-shirts or logo during the run. Apart from the medals and certificates, this category also offers a challenge trophy to the winning team.
