Situated at
the centre of Kuala Lumpur’s Central Business District, the Kuala
Lumpur Convention Centre is the city’s most
technologically–advanced, purpose-built facility for international,
regional and local conventions, tradeshows, public exhibitions,
entertainment and private functions.
The Kuala
Lumpur Convention Centre’s total function space is 20, 059m2.
Inclusive of support areas and circulation space, the facility’s
gross built-up area is 120,000m2 on a 7.3 acre site.
The Convention
Centre represents the latest project within PETRONAS’ distinctive
Kuala Lumpur City Centre development. Designed as a “city within a
city”, this 100-acre development offers a stimulating environment
where one can work, live, shop, visit and enjoy life.

Other
components include a 50-acre park, the signature
PETRONAS Twin Towers,
the Asy’Syakirin Mosque, six-storey
Suria KLCC shopping centre,
PETROSAINS interactive science discovery centre, Galeri PETRONAS and
the
Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS, home of
the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.
Boasting the
latest in wireless, 3G telecommunications and digital audio-visual
facilities, the venue comprises:

A Plenary
Hall on two levels with tiered seating for 3,000, built-in rear
projection facilities and screen, plus a fixed stage with fly
tower, backstage support facilities and direct lift, escalator
and staircase access. To the front of the stage is an Orchestra
Pit, which has a motorised floor capable of rising up to the
auditorium floor.

A Plenary
Theatre with tiered seating for 500 participants, screen and
front projection facilities built-in, plus a fixed stage.
Both the Plenary Hall and the Plenary Theatre are equipped with
full stage lighting and sound systems. Technical facilities
available include simultaneous interpretation for up to seven
languages (stage language + 6) in Plenary Hall and five
languages (stage language + 4) in Plenary Theatre, delegate
voting systems built-in to seat arms in all 500 seats in the
Plenary Theatre, front section only (792 seats) in the Plenary
Hall and an interactive microphone system.

Four
Exhibition Halls at ground level in two blocks, joined by a Link
Hall totalling 9,710m2 in column free space. The halls have
direct freight access, mobile and static rigging grids, full
catering services within each hall, exhibitor storage rooms,
hospitality lounges plus organiser’s offices and suites.

A Grand
Ballroom to accommodate 2,380 delegates theatre-style or 2,000
guests for a banquet. Facilities include a state-of-the-art
double operable soundproof wall system, two permanent rear
projection screens plus audio and stage lighting.

A
Conference Hall for 1,800 delegates set theatre-style that also
separates to form three halls to seat 500, 770 and 510
delegates. Each of these halls is fitted with the latest in
projection technology.

A Banquet
Hall with barrel vaulted ceilings and a grand style décor, for
up to 740 people set theatre style and up to 600 for banquet
seating.

A further
20 meeting rooms that accommodate between 43 to 224 delegates.
Located over two floors and providing a total of 1,922m2 of
space for breakout meetings, some of the rooms may be combined
to form larger areas.
Other
facilities include VIP rooms, Board Rooms, Press Rooms, Business
Centre, Bridal Suites, Dressing Rooms, Prayer Rooms, Concierge and
Luggage Rooms, Medical Centre, Parenting Rooms, Audio-visual
production rooms, Organisers’ offices and Hospitality Suites.
