Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO)

Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia or MyIPO is the organisation responsible for the development and management of the intellectual property system including patent, trade marks, industrial designs, copyright, and IC Layout designs protection in Malaysia.

MyIPO's objectives are to establish a more efficient and effective machinery for the IP system, assume a bigger role in respect of IP in the international arena, propagate a wider role in the nation's intellectual property development and to enhance the employment for more experts and professionals in the field of IP.

The Corporation is headed by a Director General and assisted by two Assistant Director Generals. Some of the important divisions are:

Patents Unit.
Trade Marks Unit
Geographical Indications Unit
Industrial Designs Unit
Copyright and Layout Designs of Integrated Circuits Unit
Legislation Advisory Unit
Internal Audit Unit

MyIPO also provide an online service for Patent and Trade Mark application & search (PANTAS). This FREE service is currently available to individual, agent or corporate registered users. Training on PANTAS Online search and filing system system is also available. Please refer to the website for schedules.
