Expatriate Malaysia Travel Guide -
Malaysia Tourism Centre, MaTiC

Malaysia Tourism Centre (MTC) Kuala Lumpur
Malaysia Tourism Centre, MaTiC

The Malaysia Tourism Centre (MaTiC) is located within a building along Jalan Ampang in Kuala Lumpur, which is both an architectural and historical landmark.

A one-stop tourist centre, MaTic is driven by the vision to place Malaysia on the global map as one of the finest tourist destinations in the world. The various services and facilities offered by MaTic include the tourist information counter, tourist police counter, Internet access to its tourism e-portal, Saloma Bistro & Theatre Restaurant, Saloma Retail Centre, ATM machine, money changer, a luxurious lounge called the Selasar Waiting Lounge and a ticket counter for the Transnasional Executive Coach.

The tastefully refurbished colonial building in which MaTic resides offers a striking contrast to its modern surroundings within the heart of Kuala Lumpur. A mere walking distance to our world-renowned KLCC and situated within the vicinity of our world-class hotels such as the Renaissance and New World Hotels, Concorde, Crown Princess, Grand Maya, Sheraton Imperial, Mutiara Kuala Lumpur, Equatorial and Istana, MaTic is within easy accessibility to all local and foreign tourists.

Apart from the excellent facilities, MaTic organises a line of regular programmes throughout the year such as musicals and dance performances on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2.00pm to 2.30pm at its Mini Auditorium. Tickets are sold at RM5.00 for adults and are free for children below the age of 12. Guests are also entertained with Japanese films at the Mini Auditorium on every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.

MaTic is also the ideal venue for art and culture connoisseurs. A variety of performances ranging from drama, theatre, musicals, dances and exhibitions to traditional games and competitions could be staged here. The schedule for these performances is displayed on the electronic board located behind the landmark sculpture of a betel-nut platter, a symbol of the Malay heritage.

MaTic is dedicated and committed towards providing a quality, professional and friendly service to local and foreign tourists in its endeavour to become a leading one-stop tourist centre. Since the opening of the tourist information centre after its official launch as well as its establishment as one of the pick up points for KL city tours in January 2002, MaTic has witnessed a tremendous increase in the number of visitors.
